Scambi di prodotti, di artigiani, di mode e di modelli : la metallurgia sui due versanti delle Alpi occidentali
P. 323-331
The symbol of the 51st Scientific Meeting of the IIPP is a disc pendant from the pile dwelling of Viverone. Starting from this object, present in central and eastern Europe and north-western Italy, we analyse the metal finds of Viverone that have precise comparisons with south-western Germany. It is not merely a matter of imports, but rather of common tastes and methods of use of the metallurgical products that illustrate shared fashions and models in both the ornaments and the weapons (and hence in the manner of fighting) between the two sides of the Alps. In the same way, in the transition between the Bronze Age and the Iron Age, we can identify a similar sharing of production and types, but between north-western Italy and south-eastern France.
