Eco-Sustainable Cities, Biophilic-Cities : le forme del discorso ambientale e della città

Il discorso ambientale attorno alla città e ai modi per rendere l'insediamento contemporaneo sostenibile e resiliente si è andato articolando in una serie di approcci e teorie che hanno prodotto una varietà di soluzioni. Il tema della forma urbana e dei suoi effetti sulla sostenibilità non sempre, però, è esplicitamente dichiarato e affrontato. Spesso soluzioni e metodi proposti sembrano indifferenti alla forma che la città sarebbe auspicabile assumesse per conseguire gli ambiziosi obiettivi che vengono dichiarati. Nonostante la questione della forma sembri venire relegata sullo sfondo del discorso, essa in realtà è rilevante e le più avvedute sperimentazioni di 'città eco-sostenibili' riportano tale tema al centro, inserendolo in un più ampio ragionamento sui rapporti tra l'infrastruttura urbana e l'ambiente. The environmental discourse around the city and the ways to make the contemporary settlement sustainable and resilient has been divided into a series of approaches and theories that have produced a variety of solutions. However, the theme of urban form and its effects on sustainability is not always declared and addressed. Proposed solutions and methods seem often indifferent to the form that the city would preferably take to achieve those ambitious objectives. Although the question of form seems to be relegated to the background of the discussion, it is relevant, and the most advanced experiments about "eco-sustainable cities" bring it as the focus, inserting it into a broader reasoning on the relationships between urban infrastructure and environment.
