Dal soggetto di diritto al soggetto etico : diritto, potenza, verità in Michel Foucault

2018 - Franco Angeli

35-60 p.

What is the relationship between the claims of autonomy and self-government, and the growing demand for law, both present at the level of social forces? Can the category of legal person still account for the actual density of political subjectivity? Deepening these questions means keeping the necessary tension between legal, political and ethical levels alive. With this essay, the author propose to re-analyze Foucault's analysis of governmentality and bio-politics, taking inspiration from his courses on Le gouvernement de soi et des autres. Here, indeed, the survey focuses on the key-element which government action has always been based on, and also exemplifies the power of life: Forms of truth-telling practiced against power may account for the effective production of a normativity that is immanent to political subjectivity, going beyond a law as a device of mere order management.
