Ernesto Buonaiuti, Catholic priest and protagonist of the "modernist" crisis of the early twentieth century, is one of the founders with Mario Dal Pra of Rivista di storia della filosofia in 1946. The two scholars had very different approaches to the history of philosophy, as is evident from a consideration of Buonaiuti's essays on different themes in medieval thought. It is therefore interesting to try and identify possible reasons for their collaboration in the postwar period. [Publisher's Text].
