Storicizzare la disabilità : l'esperienza dei mutilati di guerra italiani e la costruzione di una nuova identità

Il concetto di disabilità, il ruolo dei disabili nell'ambito delle società e le pratiche di welfare, approntate per garantire a cittadini in situazione di svantaggio assistenza sanitaria e sociale, sono oggi dati acquisiti. L'articolo analizza in che modo questi aspetti sono andati consolidandosi e in che modo sono stati normati. La Grande Guerra è un termine a quo per comprendere in che modo e rispetto a quali problemi sia stata definita l'identità dell'invalido; in che modo tale identità sia stata presentata alla società; in che modo sia stato creato un sistema di welfare e in che modo e su quali basi siano stati promulgati provvedimenti legislativi. The concept of disability, the role of disabled people in the society and the welfare practices, arranged to guarantee health and social assistance to citizens in a situation of disadvantage, are now well established. This article aims to analyze how these aspects have been consolidated and how they have been regulated. The Great War is a term a quo to understand how and with respect to which problems the identity of the invalid has been defined; to understand how this identity was presented to the society; how a welfare system was created and how and on what basis legislative measures were promulgated. The analysis of the history of disabled exservicemen and of legislative actions allows us to understand the basis of the legislative measures of the second postwar period. [Publisher's text].
