First published almost twenty years ago, these “Conversations” with the baritone Bruscantini are still fresh, vivid and up to date. Piano player and musicologist Andrea Foresi, the author, in a few interviews, kinds of conversations, talked with the Maestro about singing vocal technique, his way of conceiving Opera, about his opinions regarding contemporary music and about how the conductors and the composers are in his opinion.
As the experts have already pointed out at the beginning of his career “Today maybe there isn't any baritone who could make this Mozartian and Rossinian artistic “embroidery” so comprehensible, mellow and pleasant even to the ears of the most difficult listener, performing it with such a vivacious accent, featuring such a plasticity of the phrasing and a graceful ‘cadences'. (Andrea Estivo, 1969)
