The book brings together contributions and reflections arising from the European project ‘SCI-CO+_High Professional Skills for Advanced Science Communication' with the aim of helping to strengthen the training of those already active in the field of science communication or who intend to pursue a career in this sector. The SCI-CO+ project proposes a new digital scientific communication model that actively engages the public, combats misinformation, and spreads. Using advanced technologies like augmented and virtual reality, the approach integrates transparency, accessibility, personalization, and sustainability to create innovative and inclusive experiences. The goal is to promote democratic citizenship through dynamic and multidisciplinary scientific communication.

The project, coordinated by the Fondazione IDIS - Città della Scienza of Naples (Italy), involved: Databenc - Distretto ad Alta Tecnologia per i Beni Culturali in Naples (Italy); the University of Naples Federico II (Italy); Fondazione Mondo Digitale in Rome (Italy); Trinity College Dublin (Ireland); Ciência Viva - Agência Nacional para a Cultura Científica e Tecnológica in Lisbon (Portugal); the University Politehnica of Bucharest (Bucharest, Romania); Navet Science Centre in Boras (Sweden).
