L'odio e la compassione nel mondo antico
11-25 p.
First of all, we give the reasons why it is even contradictory to say - as has re¬cently been done - that hatred is even a right. It is difficult to define hatred, which however aims to ensure that the hated does not exist. Remembering some basic Aristotelian clarifica¬tions on hatred, anger, compassion and meekness, we reread the fatal nocturnal meeting in Iliad XXIV between Priam and Achilles for the restitution of Hector's body. Our hypothesis is that hatred causes unbearable pain, where compassion can arise from. Everyone must gi¬ve up something for some exchange to take place: but above all must emotionally mirror themselves in the other's pain. [Publisher's text].
