  • Recent studies have shed light on Sciascia's thought in relation to women, in part debunking a long-standing prejudice. Drawing on a cross-section of female figures, both literary and, to a lesser degree, drawn from real life, this article seeks to contribute to reflections on the writer's gaze on the female universe, emphasizing its opening and the way it was ahead of its time. The analysis uses a comparative approach and is enhanced by consideration of new figures, which have not yet been scrutinised. [Publisher's text]
