Cristianesimo e Chiesa nel pensiero religioso di Martinetti
P. 453-463
The article aims to examine Martinetti's position on Christianity and the church by placing it within his peculiar vision of religion and the world of religions, characterized from his earliest works by two fundamental elements: an absolute dualism between empirical and ideal elements and a typically Gnostic rationalism. In this reconstruction a particular significance is attributed to the Introduction to Metaphysics (1907), unpublished, which contains in a nutshell the fundamental elements of his interpretation. Then the Author presents the subsequent developments that this interpretation went through up to Gesù Cristo e il cristianesimo (1934) and the 1935 essay La Religione. The conclusions emphasize the modernity of Martinetti's interpretation of Jesus, which lies at the heart of his elucidation of Christianity and the church. [Publisher's text]
