  • Le relazioni tra la Santa Sede e la Monarchia spagnola nella seconda metà del XVIII secolo furono caratterizzate da una forte tensione. L'obiettivo principale di questo lavoro è analizzarne alcune testimonianze in determinati frangenti politici, a partire dallo studio della pratica del dono, che era parte del cerimoniale associato all'ingresso pubblico dei nunzi apostolici a Madrid. Osserveremo quattro ingressi - uno per il governo di Fernando VI (1746-1759) e tre per quello del successore, Carlo III (1759-1788) - che ci permetteranno di indagare ciò che sta dietro agli aspetti meramente materiali degli oggetti inviati dal Papa ai Re spagnoli e i membri della loro Corte nel corso del secolo.   • Relations between the Holy See and the Spanish Monarchy in the second half of the Eighteenth century were characterized by tension. The main objective of this work is to analyze some of its testimonies in certain political situations, starting from the study of the gift practice, which was part of the ceremony associated with the public entrance of the apostolic nuncios to Madrid. We will observe four entrances - one for the reign of Ferdinand VI (1746-1759) and three for that of the successor, Charles III (1759-1788) - which will allow us to investigate what lies behind the merely material aspects of the objects sent by the Pope to the Spanish Kings and members of their Court during the century.
