Pratiche di diversità quotidiana : relazioni e spazi urbani nel quartiere pratese di San Paolo
117-132 p.
The paper explores spatial aspects of day to day social organization of diversity (Semi, 2007), drawing on the case study of the San Paolo district of Prato. San Paolo is characterized by a history of successive waves of immigration, from Tuscany, southern Italy and, in more recent years, from countries outside Europe, with a prevalence from China. The research focuses on relational aspects of life in the district, exploring how different social actors live the urban spaces. Through in-depth interviews to the residents and observation of the public spaces of the district, certain differences in everyday practices have been identified among groups of residents from different origins and among the young and more elderly residents.
