Chi ha scoperto la causa formale? : aspetti della recezione di Senofane in Aristotele
P. 9-26
Aristotle maintained that Xenophanes did not discover formal causality. In this paper I show that Aristotle was wrong in stating this, because Xenophanes had a notion of causality that might be regarded as an attempt at explaining events by means of formal agents. It is indeed likely that Aristotle never read the passages where Xenophanes presents this theory.[Publisher's text]
