Memoria come presenza : l'estetica del digitale e il limite della morte
53-63 p.
My essay aims to focus on the limit of death in the time of digital technologies from the well-established relationship between autobiography and the end of life. The juxtaposition of two literary examples of "archives of the non-archived" and the use of social networks allows, first, for the modernization of the idea that every life becomes a whole only through death. Second, however, the particular timelessness of the online dimension (eterniday) brings about a consequential transcendence of the limit of death, which modifies our atavistic relationship with memory, immortality and immutability. The essay aims, therefore, to highlight the dialectic between the limit and the limitless generated by digital technologies in reference to our relationship with mortality and the particular coincidence between memory and a past that never ceases to remain present.
