Lo stile etico delle 'nuove spiritualità'
P. 139-157
While philosophers such as Murdoch, Diamond, Williams, andTaylor press for an extension of moral reflection to deeper visions of specificpractical problems, in contemporary societies we see a proliferation of increasingly fragmented and secularised religious imaginaries within the reachof individual choices. As bearers of a vision of man and the world, such beliefs and practices can be subjected to philosophical critique. In this specificcase, drawing inspiration, among other things, from some Foucault's reflections on the ἐπιμέλεια ἑαυτοῦ, I analyse the phenomenon defined as ‘newspiritualities', ‘religions of the self' that move explicitly in a worldly spaceand in which the individual and his or her choices constitute the focus andan absolute value.
