Sul tema dell'eroismo in Friedrich Nietzsche
74-88 p.
This essay analyses Nietzsche's various and complex relation with heroism and his progressive distance from the idea of heroism proposed by both Romanticism and Idealism and their teleology. As far as Nietzsche is concerned, heroism has to be based on a belief and has to be guaranteed metaphysically and theologically speaking. Carlyle's heroes are particularly criticised by the philosopher Nietzsche consider them drastically different from Emerson's and Wagner's decadent heroes are disapproved of as well. Nietzsche's strong critique is also against Lou Salomè. In fact, in the latter Nietzsche initially admired a heroic trait because of her anticonformism in her fight against her time and background only to change his mind later on. Nietzsche also disapproves of Heinrich von Stein's heroic ethics. Finally, all these thinkers make Nietzsche definitively affirm I am the opposite of a heroic nature. [Publisher's text].
