Amplía Founded in 1975 by Denis Pryen, now directed by Xavier Pryen, l'Harmattan is a leading independent French publisher headquartered in the heart of the Latin Quarter in Paris: every year we publish around 2700 new books, in all themes of Social Sciences and Humanities (Fine Arts, Communication, Law, Economics, Education, History, Linguistics, Philosophy,Political Science, Psychology, Sociology...) and across all regions of the world, especially Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.Besides academic essays and reference works, we also publish many broad-based essays and novels, as well as theater plays, poetry and literary works by famous authors.In 2009 we created a database of our digital contents aimed for libraries, L’Harmatheque, which currently has over 100 clients, including prestigious universities all over the world.L’Harmatheque contains more than 50000 ebooks and every month we add over 250 new titles.L’Harmattan has also an international presence with two offices in European countries and nine in Africa.Besides Editions L’Harmattan, several other imprints belong to L’Harmattan Group : Academia and Eme, based in Belgium, Fauves, Indigo Côté-Femmes, Les impliqués, Michalon, Odin, Orizons, Pepper, Sépia, SPM, Sutton and Téradère.
