Misurare l'intangibile : una riflessione sull'applicabilità degli indicatori DESI alla comunicazione e all'attività digitale in sanità pubblica : il caso del Registro Italiano delle Protesi Impiantabili

2024 - Franco Angeli

143-161 p.

The Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) measures the pro-gress of EU countries in the digitisation of various areas, including public services. In this article, a first analysis was made of the applicability of the DESI indicators to the digital activities of the Italian Arthroplasty Registry (RIAP) included in the broader Italian Implantable Prostheses Registry (RIPI) established at the Italian National Institute of Health. Despite the fact that the European level of DESI and the level of the Registries relate to each other as macro and micro, it nevertheless emerged that it is possible to apply all five indicators of the DESI Dimension 4 Digital Public Services to the core activities of the RIAP and RIPI, fully or partially.

In particular, some of them lend themselves well to assess the outputs of the digital communication of the Registries. This means that the same principles that guide the DESI index at the European level are also relevant in the narrower contexts of individual projects. Therefore, the authors argue that the criteria of the DESI indicators can be used in the drafting of RIPI's Strategic Communication Plan, thus bringing together the macro and micro levels.
