Secondo le esigenze di una società industriale evoluta : impresa e cattolicesimo negli esordi del CESIPI

2023 - Franco Angeli

79-107 p.

In 1967, in Bologna, with the special patronage of the Emilia-Romagna section of the UCID, a number of Italian entrepreneurs and managers founded the Centre for Studies and Information on Enterprise Problems (CESIPI). By drawing on the papers in the rich institutional archive, this contribution intends to focus on the origins of this organisation, with particular reference to the cultural development underlying its launch and initiatives promoted in its early years. By highlighting its multi-causal approach to the study of enterprise, the research analyses the contribution made by CESIPI on relevant issues, such as Christian-inspired entrepreneurial action, the relationship between the ruling class and economic development, the concept of participation, social reforms and the relationship between trade unions, politics and the economy. What emerges is a new chapter in Italian business culture that sheds light on new profiles and the role of Catholic reform culture. [Publisher's Text].
