Sopravvivere alle migrazioni forzate in un quadro di difficile accesso ai servizi del welfare : la salute delle donne vittime di tratta

2021 - Franco Angeli

109-123 p.

This paper analyzes the health needs of women who have survived "trafficking" in forced migration, with the aim of identifying possible policy strategies to protect, in particular, mental health and maternity. The research question explores the multidimensional oppression that affects women absorbed in this victim condition, based on the framework on gender medicine and on the narrative approach in the social and health sector. The qualitative survey, based on the analysis of documentary sources, highlights how difficult access to welfare services is an obstacle that is added to intersectional discrimination and inequalities caused by gender and ethnicity. Among the analytical results, the need to deal with people's life stories is emphasized on a cognitive level; on the operational level, the importance of the crosscultural gender approach to provide "proximity" responses in social and health services.
