In the last few decades we have returned incessantly, from more points of view, on the transformations of the city, on the changes of urban life. The contribution recalls some reading perspectives that still seem relevant today in order to think and act desirable reversals of the current structure of common life, to produce, that is, different designs of that urban fabric that seems destined more and more to expand, to broaden its plots.
