Luigi Einaudi e il neo-liberalismo europeo
29-54 p.
Luigi Einaudi's economic and political thought is thoroughly valued and studied. However, his contributions to the construction of a European neoliberal canon in the 1930's and 1940's are often overlooked. This paper aims to shed light on the point, in order to reassert early neoliberalism's identity as well. We will focus, then, on Einaudi's and European neo-liberals' shared belief in the need to rearrange the framework of free market economy, while criticizing some aspects of contemporary western civilization and facing the challenge of developing a liberal approach to mass democracy.
