La biografia come epistemologia in azione : il caso di Silvano Arieti (1914-1981)
P. 153-184
Taking a cue from the scientific biography of Italian-born psychiatrist Silvano Arieti, this paper focuses on the idea of biography as a key to epistemology in action, suggested by Young in 1988.In particular, referring to Arieti's science and life, this contribution singles out some issues of theoretical and epistemological relevance, such as Arieti's thinking on similarity and difference and its relevance for human sciences; the concept of scientific humanism; the emphasis on thinking and on the role played by ideas in subjectivity; the call to a plural rationality capable of counteracting scientistic drifts in modern science.
