Infrastrutture globali e divenire urbano : Pireo, Trieste e il Corridoio Adriatico

Come osservare e interrogare gli spazi costruiti e trasformati dai grandi progetti infrastrutturali? Quali gli attori, le strategie e le scale da tenere sotto osservazione? Quali le relazioni fra il cosiddetto ‘global infrastructure turn' e le dinamiche di urbanizzazione? Ponendo queste domande l'articolo introduce i testi del servizio che, nel suo insieme, si interroga sulle trasformazioni spaziali connesse al recente sviluppo infrastrutturale lungo il cosiddetto ‘Corridoio Adriatico', a partire dai porti di Trieste e del Pireo. L'articolo discute la necessitàagrave; di superare una visione puramente tecnica delle infrastrutture e dei processi che le riguardano, per riconoscerne l'attuale ‘salto di scala' e vedere dal terreno tali interventi come parte delle nuove forme del fenomeno urbano contemporaneo. How can we observe and investigate the spaces built and transformed by large infrastructural projects? What actors, strategies, and scales should be kept under observation? What are the relationships between the so-called ‘global infrastructure turn' and urbanisation processes? By asking these questions the article introduces the section, whose focus is on the spatial transformations associated with recent infrastructural development along the so-called ‘Adriatic Corridor', starting with the ports of Trieste and Piraeus. The article discusses the need to overcome a purely technical view of infrastructures and their processes, in order to recognise their current ‘leap in scale', and to see these interventions from the ground as part of the new forms of contemporary urban phenomena.
