Il mito letterario di Gaspara Stampa (1817-1923)

Il saggio intende documentare l'affermazione del ‘mito' di Gaspara Stampa, che a partire dall'Ottocento riveste il ruolo di tragica eroina d'amore in numerose opere letterarie, e che nel Novecento diviene uno dei topoi della riflessione di Rainer Maria Rilke sull'amore. Dopo un breve esame della poesia della stessa Gaspara, la quale contribuisce in prima persona ad accentuare l'esemplarita della propria vicenda, l'analisi si concentra su alcuni testi otto e novecenteschi dedicati alla poetessa e specialmente sulla caratterizzazione del suo personaggio, ricostruendo cosi lo sviluppo e le peculiarita della sua leggenda. The essay intends to document the affirmation of the myth surrounding Gaspara Stampa, born in Padua in the 16th century, who from the 19th century onwards played the role of tragic love heroine in numerous literary works and who in the 20th century became one of the cornerstones of Rainer Maria Rilke's reflections on love. After a brief examination of the poetry of Gaspara herself, who contributes personally to emphasise the exemplarity of her story, the analysis focuses on some 19th and 20th century texts dedicated to Gaspara and especially on the description of her character, thus reconstructing the development and peculiarities of the legend concerning herself.
