In the context of a process of globalization of agricultural supply chains, informal migrant settlements represent both the symbol of a condition of an extreme housing poverty and a fun-damental place for the social reproduction of the labor force. At the same time, this form of housing turns out to be a fundamental device for the organization and the distribution of mi-grant daily labourers and outlines, even in Italy the rising of forms of racialization of the terri-tory.
