L'amicizia nelle nostre società connesse : meditazioni aristoteliche
P. 147-158
In an age when social networks and virtual relationships between ultra-connected individuals are ubiquitous, it is good to reread Aristotle across the centuries, with some critical distance. Aristotle teaches that friendship involves a small number of friends, that it is authentic only if it requires real encounters and is extinguished by distance, that it presupposes inner rectitude in order to be right, and that can be true only if it is absolutely selfless. The authors of past societies patiently read and assimilated the Nicomachean Ethics in order to question their own social bonds. What can we learn from these masters of thought today?
