Vitruvio e l'architettura teatrale in Italia in epoca tardo-repubblicana e augustea
P. 61-70
Several comparisons, problems and contrasts arise between the Vitruvian text and the building situation of theatrical architecture in Italy in the late Republican and Augustan periods. The goal of this paper is to show what Vitruvius could and what he could not canonize of theatrical architecture of his time. In this way it is possible to better evaluate the architect and his treatise in re lation to theatrical architecture starting from the con structive reality of the Italian territory, instead of seeking his precepts in a discretionary manner.
