L'ultima fase dell'Epigravettiano in Italia : nuovi dati sugli aspetti locali e interregionali nel Tardoglaciale
P. 31-44
The authors summarise data on the Late-Final Epigravettian in the Italian peninsula on a multidisciplinary basis. The lithic assemblages and symbolic behaviour are the main reference records while other aspects (settlement dynamics, dwelling organisation, economic strategies, etc.) are less diagnostic for an evaluation on a broad geographical scale, since they are strictly connected with the specific environmental and topographic contexts. Generally, the different aspects examined attest to the existence of peculiar aspects of the Epigravettian, with several affinities within a “cultural province” which includes Mediterranean Europe and extends from Provence (Southern France) to the Balkan area. Nonetheless, several specific features are also evident at regional level.. [Publisher's text]
