Eric Voegelin e Isaiah Berlin storici delle idee : una riflessione sul monismo
608-649 p.
The article aims to discuss Eric Voegelin and Isaiah Berlin's political reflection on monism as "essence" of totalitarianism by analysing a series of writings dating back to the mid 20th century. Although the two thinkers substantially professed different political ideals, they both paid a special attention to the problem of political, philosophical and ethical monism as one of the main sources of those ideologies and regimes suppressing any form of liberty and dignity. In doing so, they developed an articulated political reflection having interesting points of contact that we want to analyze by looking at both thinkers as historian of ideas. [Publisher's text].
