La Repubblica dimenticata : l'insurrezione di Caulonia nel marzo del 1945
15-29 p.
In March 1945, while in the north of the country the partisan militias tried to liberate the nation from Nazifascism, in Caulonia, a small village in the province of Reggio Calabria marked by peasant poverty and resentment for the ruling classes, the local population started to proclaim a Partisan Republic that was freely inspired by the models of Soviet Russia and was part of that extraordinary season of struggles for the land that for some years was affecting the south. However, this brief but significant revolutionary experience will be opposed by the Communist Party itself which, after the "turning point of Salerno" will not tolerate any form of revolutionary spontaneism, consigning this experience to oblivion.
