Linee condivise : il phone phreaking e la storia culturale dell'hacking (1971-1984)
47-69 p.
What we know about the history of hacking comes mostly from sociological and anthropological studies or journalists' and hackers' chronicles. Through the reading of Yipl/Tap, a newsletter published between 1971 and 1984, and the analysis of «phone phreaks» (phone enthusiasts) representations and practices, the author intends to prove how present-day hacker cultures can be better understood from a long-term genealogical perspective and by linking them to other 'technical cultures' in the 20th century.
