This article briefly reconstructs the profile of Alberto Asor Rosa as a scholar, political ideologue, cultural organizer and writer. The evolution of this author proceeded from his search for revolutionary political solutions to a pessimistic vision of contemporary society, which appeared to him as confused and disorderly. Furthermore, among the thousands of pages written by him, we have chosen some original examples of discussions of literary texts which go beyond an ideological analysis. [Publisher's text].
