Ruralità tra risignificazione e centralità nuova : giovani agricoltori e transizione alla multifunzionalità nelle valli Trentine e Altoatesine

After decades of marginalization and peripheralization, what was previously considered the "difficult countryside" is now starting to reattract young populations that choose to live and work in rural areas. This contribution presents a case study focused on the return of young farmers to mountain agriculture in TrentinoAlto Adige/Südtirol. It analyses (i) the mechanisms that support the entrance into agriculture of both newcomers and farmers under 40 that continue the family agricultural tradition and (ii) their transition to multifuncionality which becomes a keyelement for the regeneration of the territory.
