Sport e cittadinanza

Sport and citizenship constitute controversial notions reflecting social dynamics, political issues and cultural moods that vary over time. The article analyses the genesis of the relationship between sports practices and movements for active citizenship investigating the transformations related to changes in the welfare systems in Europe. Specific attention is paid to the Italian case, to the progressive establishment of sports associations in the non-profit system and to the consequent transformation of the cultural profiles and organizational models of amateur sport.
