Uscire dall'euro?

By this note, the author comments upon Paolo Becchi's review of the Italian edition of The Euro: How a common currency threatens the future of Europe by Joseph Stiglitz. Firstly, he underlines that Stiglitz did not deny that the European common currency might be useful per se, but that it should rather become the expression of a politically and economically unified continent. Then he stresses that the introduction of the Euro has brought about undoubted ad-vantages in such fields as monetary stability, savings, and even sovereignty, which has be-come the most common argument advanced by "euro-sceptics".
