Mehr Founded in 1911 by Dr. Felix Meiner (1883-1965) in Leipzig with the takeover of the Philosophical Library, which was founded in 1868, the publishing house has since pursued a purely humanities program. Based in Hamburg since 1951, the publishing house is now family-owned under the management of Jakob and Johann Meiner in the fourth generation. In 1992, Helmut Buske Verlag (www.buske.de), which specialises in textbooks and dictionaries on foreign languages, was acquired. Detailed information can also be found in the publisher's chronicle.
